Pinterest Hires Joanne Bradford as Head of Partnerships

In Executive Moves, Pinterest has hired Joanne Bradford as Head of Partnerships at Pinterest. In her new role she will create strategies for identifying the best ways to work with advertisers and media partners to begin to bring in revenue for the social network. In addition she will oversee the sales organization. She will be reporting to the head of Pinterest Operations, Don Faul.

Previously, Ms. Bradford served as President of the San Francisco Chronicle. Ms. Bradford will continue to advise the publication and work closely with developing partnerships with the Chronicle’s parent company, Hearst Corporation. In her short tenure at the San Francisco Chronicle, Ms. Bradford and her team are credited with overseeing major web changes as well as launching a mobile site. The mobile site had content not available on the traditional website and was offered only to subscribers.

Prior to joining the San Francisco Chronicle, Ms. Bradford served as Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer at Demand Media, where she oversaw the company’s efforts to drive growth.  Prior to Demand Meidia, she served as Senior Vice President of US Revenue and Market Development at Yahoo!  and  as Chief Media Officer and Corporate Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing of MSN at Microsoft Corporation. She also served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at BusinessWeek Magazine.

She was named to Mediaweek 50 in 2010 and serves on the boards of the Ad Council and CARE. Ms. Bradford has served as an Advisor to Greycroft Partners, LLC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from San Diego State University.
