Recruited: Intel Corporation Vice President and Director of Research
The Good Search has successfully recruited David Tennenhouse to Intel Corporation for the role of Vice President and Director of Research. Intel Corporation is an American multinational semiconductor chip maker corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, California. Intel is one of the world’s largest and highest valued semiconductor chip makers, based on revenue.
At Intel Corporation, Dr. Tennenhouse is responsible for innovating an “open collaborative” approach to corporate research. His role at Intel Corporation in part, is based on his earlier work as DARPA’s Chief Scientist and Director of its Information Technology Office. At both DARPA and Intel, he has been involved in the strategic planning and execution of programs related to a wide range of technologies, including networking, wireless communications, computer architecture, distributed computing, machine learning, search / data mining, image processing, robotics, MEMs, healthcare, and nano/bio-technology.
Dr. Tennenhouse is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and a Fellow of the IEEE. He is currently Director of Alverix, Inc., the Computing Research Association (CRA) and the International Computer Sciences Institute (ICSI). He is also an advisor to Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science and to the Mechanical Engineering Department at UC Berkeley. He has held academic appointments at MIT in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and in the Sloan School of Management. Dr. Tennenhouse holds a B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and obtained his Ph.D. at the Computer Laboratory of the University of Cambridge.
