Employers should note whom people are connected to in their networks and the seemingly ubiquitous names. “If someone is connected with real heavyweights or accomplished technologists, it gives me a sense they’re running in the right crowd,” says recruiter Bradford. “Other names I see attached to everybody, and I wonder how discriminating they are” . . .
. . .And despite privacy controls offered by some sites that limit what profile information is publicly readable, information can leak out. What makes someone a hoot at a party may not be perceived as the best endorsement of his or her professional skills – like the guy who lost a job when one employer noticed his full-body tattoos plastered on Tribe.net, a social and community networking site. “Be aware that if it’s searchable in Google, it’s fair game,” says Bradford. . . .
. . . Be specific. Be as detailed as you can in the kind of contacts and job information you’re seeking. When responding to job openings on a networking site, don’t send generic information and leave it to the recruiter to figure out how you can work with a company. You’ve taken the trouble to seek someone out. They should at least know why you’re there . . .

The Good Search has successfully recruited David Tennenhouse to Intel Corporation for the role of Vice President and Director of Research. Dr. Tennenhouse is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and a Fellow of the IEEE. He is also an advisor to Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science and to the Mechanical Engineering Department at UC Berkeley. He has held academic appointments at MIT in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and in the Sloan School of Management. Dr. Tennenhouse holds a B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and obtained his Ph.D. at the Computer Laboratory of the University of Cambridge.

Recruited: Microsoft Principal Architect
The Good Search successfully recruited Wojtek Kozaczynski to the role of Microsoft Corporation Principal Architect for the Patterns and Practices Group. In his role at Microsoft Corporation, he is currently focusing on the development of the Smart Client Baseline Architecture Toolkit at Microsoft Corporation. He is also working with the tools groups on defining and development of guidance automation tools.
Since placing Wojtek, he has advanced to the role of principal developer in the Windows Server Cloud Infrastructure group at Microsoft, where he has been acting as the architect of the Standards-based Windows Management Infrastructure. For the last couple of years, he has been focusing on the Windows Server monitoring and diagnostics, as a critical part of that infrastructure.
Before joining Microsoft Corporation, Wojtek held a number of positions in the areas of development of enterprise software, software tools, and software-related research at Rational Software, System Software Associates, Andersen Consulting and the University of Illinois in Chicago. Wojtek’s areas of interests include software architectures, software reuse, software process, and software development automation. He has a Ph.D. in information and decision sciences from the Technical University of Warsaw, Poland and more than 30 journal and conference publications. He has coauthored a book and contributed to another book.

Mr. Gillström comes to Comverse from Ericsson, where he served in a number of senior management positions over the last 15 years, including President of the Ericsson Enterprise business unit, President of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (USA), and as a member of the Multimedia business unit’s management team since its inception in January 2007 at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications.
Prior to his appointment as President of Sony Ericsson USA in March 2003, Urban held several positions within the telecommunications company Ericsson, Sony Ericsson’s Sweden-based parent company, and the largest supplier of mobile systems in the world. He served as President for Central America and the Caribbean, with Headquarters based in Mexico for one year and Costa Rica for two years. His previous experience includes serving as Vice President of Ericsson in Singapore. Before Urban worked as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Mobile Systems division of Ericsson covering the Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions.
